In 1908, six founding families laid the cornerstone for the original small brick building that was to become St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The membership grew to 90 families by 1916.
The 16th century Spanish-style church was built in 1918 and the final expansion was completed in 1929.
During the tumultuous 1960’s St. Thomas became a leader in the civil rights struggles, desegregation of schools and fair housing. Along with other Park Hill churches St. Thomas led the fight against red lining in the Park Hill neighborhood
Our building was designated an Historic Landmark by the City and County of Denver in 1977.
