WELCOME TO ST. THOMAS

WELCOME!

St Thomas Episcopal Church offers sanctuary and spiritual renewal to everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious background, social or economic circumstance, political affiliation or where you are on your spiritual journey. We welcome all who feel called to create and sustain a diverse and inclusive community.

Our Commitment

We believe all people are beloved of God. We strive to live and proclaim God’s love through all our actions and words. As a community and as individuals, we choose to Lead With Love, be beacons of light in the darkness, create safe spaces and offer hope, courage, peace and strength for the journey. We are here for each other and for those in need. St. Thomas is a place of refuge for those who are wearied by the world and desire nourishment for the spirit and the soul. We welcome you to come as you are and to join us in the sacred task of loving a new world into being.

“WHAT IF PEOPLE WERE INVITED TO COME TELL WHAT THEY ALREADY KNOW OF GOD

INSTEAD OF TO LEARN WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE?”

What if they were blessed for what they are doing in the world instead of chastened for not doing more at church?  What if church felt more like a way station than a destination?  What if the church’s job were to move people out the door instead of trying to keep them in, by convincing them that God needed them more in the world than in the church?” -Barbara Brown Taylor

St. Thomas Stands With Immigrants

Our faith is shaped by the story of people whom God led into foreign countries to escape oppression. Our faith teaches us to love our neighbors, welcome and respect the dignity of all people.

Faith & Climate

An interview with The Rev. Terri Hobart

O God, you have bound us together in a common life. Help us, in the midst of our struggles for justice and truth, to confront one another without hatred or bitterness, and to work together with mutual forbearance and respect; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Legacy of Social Justice & Housing Advocacy

In the long tradition of churches advocating for civil rights, affordable housing, and the voice of the disenfranchised, St. Thomas Episcopal Church in South Park Hill has always fought for the rights and voice of our neighbors in North East Park Hill.
